John is currently the Director QHSES of Technip Energies in Asia Pacific based in the region’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has over 40 years of solid industry experience covering all facets of work from onshore, offshore, subsea, manufacturing, heavy commercial and operations.
John was recruited by Technip in Malaysia in 2005 as the Project HSE manager for a large offshore project, and on successfully completing this project, managed other large onshore and offshore projects within the organization. Prior to being appointed Director QHSES to the new company Technip Energies 2020, established on separating from TechnipFMC, John held the senior QHSES position for TechnipFMC, and prior to merger of Technip and FMC John was VP, QHSES Asia Pacific for Technip
John’s career in QHSES started in 1989 when he was recruited to manage workplace health and safety and industrial relation of a large heavy commercial project.
John’s wealth of knowledge and experience in QHSES was gained over years of managing projects across the globe ranging from tens of millions to mega projects worth billions of dollars. These projects were in Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Australia, Korea, Nigeria, Malaysia and other parts of Asia, Europe and Africa, working with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
In his 30 years of experience, John had set up management systems, developed training programs, written industry standards, trained thousands of workers, offered solutions in QHSES and construction process with the aim to continuously improving QHSES and the working conditions for workers and local community. His extensive skills, knowledge, experience, and versatility prove John’s capabilities in implementing and delivering successful QHSES strategies.
John holds a master’s Degree in health science, Graduate Diploma in Occupational health and safety and many other qualifications in QHSES and building and construction as well as being published author.
